Severson Learning Center
When local landowner Mr. Severson was uncertain about the future of his property in Rockdale, the Cambridge Foundation stepped in with a vision to preserve the land for school and educational use. Through this collaboration, the property was ultimately deeded to the school district with one caveat: if the land is no longer being used for its intended educational purpose, ownership would revert back to the Foundation.
Through this agreement, the Foundation secured the land for student learning and outdoor education, but also ensured its protection for future generations. The land is now used by Cambridge schools to help students learn about agriculture.
