Camrock Park
CamRock Park stands as a lasting result of the Cambridge Foundation’s early efforts in the 1960s to preserve the natural landscape along Koshkonong Creek while creating meaningful recreational space for the community. Recognizing the value of the underused land between Cambridge and Rockdale, the Foundation worked with local farmers to secure options for land along the creek, helping protect the environmental corridor while minimizing impact on productive farmland.
The project also made use of an old railroad bed, which provided a natural foundation for future trail development, and the land was eventually conveyed in partnership with Dane County Parks for long-term stewardship.
Over time, phased trail construction and the addition of a key bridge connecting both sides of the creek helped unify the corridor, ultimately leading to the creation of what is now known as CamRock Park, a popular destination for biking and outdoor recreation.
