Amundson community Center
The Amundson Community Center, completed in 1991, stands as one of the Cambridge Foundation’s key contributions to community infrastructure. Developed during a period when the Foundation was actively expanding its support beyond parks and essential services, the project reflected a growing need for a dedicated space where residents could gather, host events, and participate in local programs.
Through financial support and long-term planning, the Foundation helped bring the facility to life. The center continues to serve as a hub for activities and connection, representing the Foundation’s commitment toward building spaces that foster community engagement and shared experiences.
Cambridge Community Library
Connected to the Amundson Community Center is the Cambridge Public Library. It was built to support education, accessibility, and lifelong learning within the community. The Cambridge Foundation contributed approximately $400,000 toward the library’s construction and continues to provide annual financial support.
The Cambridge Foundation has supported the library in many ways throughout the years, providing funds for renovations, furniture, and equipment. Today, the library continues to function as a vital resource, offering not only books and information, but also a welcoming environment for connection, learning, and growth.
